Yahia Barakat, also known as Yani Barakat, has been working in the upholstery industry in London for over 10 years. Before setting up Barakat Furnishings he worked for 5 years in a large London-based upholstery company supplying interior designers and luxury furniture shops with bespoke soft furnishings.
He first developed a specialism for cutting and machining - i.e. the cutting and sewing of fabrics, leathers, suedes, and skins to make up loose and fitted covers for sofas and chairs as well as cushions and other soft furnishings before moving on to master the entire process from start to finish. Another particular talent of his is cushion filling and careful shaping of cushions for style, comfort and durability. He only ever uses the best upholstery materials to provide the very finest quality furniture from the inside out.
Yani is known by some clients as the guy who can do the difficult jobs that others can't. His strong work ethic, speed and efficiency has helped many professional customers with tough deadlines and with flawless results.
He continues to provide fine bespoke furnishings to the interior designer community and businesses such as bars, restaurants, cafes, hotels and clubs and is delighted to extend his services to domestic customers in central and south east London.
